Caitlin Graduating Soon Empty Nester Blues

Caitlin graduates in just over 2 weeks and so another one flies the coop. This picture was taken on Mothers day. When we went out to Point Reyes together for a sublime lunch and drive through the countryside.Caitlin at one and a half years old, loved the camera and all the attention. She always knew what she wanted. Don't stay away when you head off to college, we will miss you so much. I have loved your teenage years as much as all the other ages.

My Hot Rod, Hiking & Crocodile Loving Gals

Now see what happens when they fly the coop! They end up strutting their stuff on the stage at Stanford. I am so proud of you both and love you to bits keep calling and coming home where ever that might be.

Ceramic sculpture,"A New Beginning", sells at John Natsoulas Gallery

My newest sculpture, "A New Beginning", sold at the 30 Ceramic Sculpture Show at John Natsoulas Gallery this May
"A NEW BEGINNING"
Ceramic, 04, under glazes, stains, oxides, glazes. Gold Leaf, Feathers. Hand built.
H 29 x W 17x D 10

"A New Beginning " A large gold leafed bowl is perched atop the head of a Bald Eagle, Birds of Prey feathers, found walking the California hills fan out from the base of this pot of gold. The neck and body of the bird are drawn and painted with three merging landscape views taken from three great American state parks. This piece was created during the final days of the last election transitioning into a needed and most welcome new beginning.

My work is forever changing, growing and expanding. This piece represents one of those transitional phases when one series of work merges into another. I have been drawing and painting on clay recently, but my love for building large one of a kind sculptures has to be satisfied. This sculpture represents huge changes in my life. A new job with Apple, soon to be empty nester, selling our home and loss of my studio, but with that comes the unknown and chances of a new beginning.
