Landscapes - a Ceramic Sculpture show in the heart of the Gold Country
I had a fantastic time at the opening for my
show in Mokelumne Hills. This small
but wonderful gallery is the place to go on a thursday night
when you are up in the Gold Country, across from the Leger Hotel an historic landmark, The Factory Outlet Gallery is a true gem. One of the owners James Aarons and I are pictured in the gallery the following day. The opening was a huge success we had so many people coming by to look at my art and meet me. I had a great time, the only names I remember were the 4 x Mikes ( pictured below ). We stayed the night at the Leger Hotel, woke to a stunning sunrise and gorgeous ride home.
Tuppy Lawson's sculptural forms, developed over the last decade, are inspired by the Mediterrnean and North American landscapes. She uses watercolor techniques to draw and paint her visions into the topographical forms of the sculptures.
Tuppy says, "I'm concerned about the environment and the impact of mankind throughout the world and feel compelled to record these snapshot vignettes of our beautiful surrounding landscapes before they are ruined or disappear altogether. I use my Canon camera to record landscapes as I travel, and refer back to these pictures as needed."
