Marin Arts Open, Mothers Day, Ceramic Sculpture, the garden and YoYo Ma

For those of you that were unable to make it this year to my Open Studio, this posting is for you.

Sat 8th was a glorious day, I enjoyed talking to friends, new neighbors and art lovers.
In the down moments I pruned the roses, weeded and soaked up the sunshine.

I also worked on 2 new pieces. It was good to have a few quiet moments.

Talking of quiet moments today might just be one long one!

The perfect day to be in the studio with YoYo Ma and his Soul of the Tango! Alex is walking the hills in the rain and after posting my photos from this morning I will
work on my new Landscape Sculpture Torso that needs more copper wire weaving.

For more pictures of the day go to my facebook link where I will post an album for Open Studios.

Ceramic Sculpture Studio & Matthias Update

Well thank you all for your great positive energy and healing prayers, Matthias our fellow ceramic artist friend and his brother Ruedi both came out of their comas and are well and truly on the way to recovery. I hope to be sculpting with Matthias this weekend at the Davies rehab facility in SFO!

Interesting how these events effect our lives. From the moment Matthias was in the coma until we saw him for the first time 2 weeks ago I was unable to sculpt. His recovery has been such a joy and inspiration that it has given me a new lease of creative energy. This last weekend Alex, Icka & I painted my studio and yesterday I finally finished reorganizing it ready for a new exciting year.

I now have a small gallery area next to my work space. I also fired my first 2010 kiln! Great firing!
